Q1. What is changing on both the HART 7 248 and 644 Rail mount transmitters?

• The Enhanced Rail mount 248 and 644 will use 4-20MA and Hart 7 protocol communications.
•  Both units will meet RoHS compliance.
• CVD Sensor matching will be available via the C2 option, which improves accuracy by trimming the transmitter to a specific RTD calibration schedule.  
• The form factor will be reduced to a thickness of 23.5 mm.
•  An LED indicator will provide visibility to transmitter/sensor health.

Q2. What changes are unique to the HART 7 644 Rail mount transmitters?

• The 644 Rail mount will have SIL 2/3 certification available using the QT option code.
• The 644 will include a dual sensor input option available using the 644T option. The dual sensor functionality will allow for hot backup, sensor drift alert, and calculated output functionality.

• At launch SIL 2/3 certification will not be available. Product management will communicate launch date in the future.

Q4. How can Enhanced HART 7 248 and 644 Rail mount transmitters be ordered?

• Add the RK option for HART 7at the end of the model string.

Q5. Is there a list price adder with the RK option?

• There is $0 list price adder for the RK option
• SIL 2/3, Dual Sensor, and CVD Matching options will have price adders

• Legacy spare parts will be available up until the end of life date for the transmitters.

Q8. How will warranty claims on legacy units be handled?

• After we have made the cutover to new-generation products, legacy product warranty claims will be replaced with new-generation series products.

Q9. What world areas will the HART 7 644 and 248 be available at upon initial launch?

• The HART 7 248 and 644 are now available in all world areas

Q10. What if a customer requires a hazardous area approved Legacy unit post launch?

• Educate and convert to a HART 7 unit
• If the HR7 unit is unacceptable, a toggle code will be provided by product management upon review

Q11. What if a customer requires a non- hazardous area approved HART 7 unit prior to launch of those units?

• Explore using a legacy unit
